Diploma in Supervision
The West Midlands Institute of Psychotherapy and the Westminster Pastoral Foundation are offering a one year supervision training.
The training to be held in Birmingham from September 2008 will lead to a Diploma in Supervision, recognised by BAPPS (British Association for Psychoanalytic and Psychondynamic Supervision).
- The course consists of 8 Saturdays of teaching in Birmingham starting on the 20th September 08
- 30 weeks of weekly 1.5 hours supervision of supervision
- A final written clinical paper
The course consists of seminars, observed supervision, clinical presentations and supervision of supervision. The course is designed to explore the theory and practice of supervision from a psychodynamic and psychoanalytical perspective. The seminars will consider the dynamics of the supervisory relationship, the unconscious process, interpretation in supervision, supervision within organisations multicultural issues consideration of contracts and boundaries.
The course can lead to an MA in supervision at the WPF after successful completion of the diploma
